ive bought this unit twice b/c of its massive impressiveness…and the price is damn cheap! the fx can be tricky to get in sync…i use them with scratching

alot, particularly the echo, which sounds great on here! …ive never had any problems with my current one. in fact, last time i played out i spilled beer

all over the entire thing…thought i was surely screwed because it made an awful static sound and shut off (was the end of the set anyway tho, phew)

…however, i wake up the next day & it is in perfect working order yet again, albeit, a bit smelly ;)

Home Theater - HDMI Switching

03.February, 2010

This article is for those of you who bought your stereo equipment before the huge 1080p boom. So you like your stereo and think it sounds good right? There’s only one problem, you have a blu-ray player, ps3, and cable box but only one HDMI input on your tv. Don’t run out and spend hundreds on a new stereo just for the HDMI switching capability, buy a switcher and install it yourself.

Assuming you have a recent AVR without HDMI switching (but would like to add it),a universal remote-control and your source equipment is equipped with optical and/or digital coaxial audio outputs, the process is actually quite simple. First you’ll need a HDMI switcher with an infra-red (IR) remote control, search around for “IR HDMI switcher” and you could find some great prices online.

Ok, with HDMI switcher in hand, the audio cables ran to their respective inputs on the receiver, all that’s left to do is hook-up the switcher and program the remote. Hooking up the switcher couldn’t be more straightforward, run one HDMI cable to your display and then the individual cables to your source devices.

This is a great way to expand the existing amount of inputs available to you as well as adding HDMI video switching to a component only receiver.
