I drink kava kava every Friday night time, after a week’s worth of teaching high schoolers. Typically on Fridays, the activities associated with the work week loop consistantly yet pointlessly through my mind. Kava’s relaxing qualities permit me to drop this cycle, and concentrate on just about anything I like. Best of all is the method kava impacts my dreams. On kava evenings, my dreams come with lengthy, epic voyages all the way through blue-green seas, filled by peculiar, welcoming water creatures. Such as last night - my traveling and conversation companion was a manatee with violet eyes. They are more such as the dreams I remember enjoying growing up, and a total departure from my standard stress-induced dreams regarding grading papers, not having enough chalk, etc.

Each one of the six cups per player must be filled 1/3 of the way up, no matter what type of beverage you use to play with. Two 12 ounce cans should be enough, but have more on the side when you set up the table. Set the cups up in a triangle, like bowling pins. Beer pong tables are way too much fun.

Whenever a player gets the ball into a cup, that person must drink its contents, then take it away. The cups still on the table are then rearranged into a different position. When the last cup is gone, the game is over or a new match begins. That’s about it for the main idea. The beer pong rules are just as simple.

Food business operators are required to think logically about what might go wrong with the food that they sell and what they must do to ensure it is safe for their customers. The food industry is highly regulated with regards food safety so adequate food safety management systems need to be in place in every organisation regardless of its size. A system based on food safety practices should be in place to control food safety hazards. The system must be based on Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) which helps to prevent problems rather than reacting to them after they have happened. A food safety management system based on HACCP is a legal requirement for all food businesses and enables businesses to demonstrate due diligence by having systems in place to prevent an offence being committed.

What does flax look like?

14.February, 2010

Flax seed is becoming more common place in our farms across Europe and parts of America because in recent times it has gotten popular press as to its benefits to health, but no many people know what it looks like. Flax is called Linum Usitatissimum L; don’t worry it will never come up in a pub quiz! The plant stands about 35 inches tall only and small leaves of various possible colors; dark or pale blue, pinkish, or even whitish in color. It is the flowers that change and produce the seeds we need for our diet. The seeds we can get when we buy flax seed are small oval in shape and can be a reddish/brown or golden color. The golden flax seeds may look more appealing but the isn’t any nutritional difference to worry about.

A fundamental part of implementing your food safety management system is communication and training. During the implementation phase all personnel should be trained, follow procedures and complete records that demonstrate the effectiveness of your food safety management system. Once your food safety management system is implemented, verification activities should be undertaken to demonstrate it is working effectively. Once you have done that and found the system to be operating effectively you should arrange your assessment with your chosen certification body. At this point the certification body will conduct an audit and review your food safety management system and determine whether you should be recommended for registration. Once you have been approved you will receive a certificate confirming your food safety management system meets the requirements of your chosen food safety standard.

There are principally two types of whole flax seed you can buy either from your local health store or as more commonly done now over the internet. They are flax seeds that are a golden color or a reddish darker brown color. The reddish brown colored flax seeds are usually cheaper because it is thought food manufacturers aren’t keen on it as the color is difficult to blend into their foods. So the cheaper option is obviously to buy the brown flax but is there a difference in the nutritional benefit of these seed types? Well the general consensus seems to be there is no difference and so as long as you are not put of the brown color yourself it is more beneficial in more than one way to buy flax seed in its reddish brown form.
